(Subjects: Liberal Studies / Geography / Life and Society / History / Chinese History)

This 40-minute to 1-hour online talk engages students in conversation with an architect who worked in the Central Police Station revitalisation project, and discusses Tai Kwun’s heritage and conservation stories. The talk will serve as a foundational introduction to the historic compound, and enable students and teachers to enjoy a fruitful experience when they visit Tai Kwun in the future.

This activity is free of charge. Please email heritage.edu@taikwun.hk to schedule your session.

Tai Kwun Education Activity: Heritage Education Courtroom Theatre

A 3-hour activity immersing students in Tai Kwun’s heritage atmosphere to learn about the history and development of Hong Kong’s judicial system. The activity offers two themes to suit upper primary to secondary students. This activity is available in Cantonese only.

Tai Kwun Education Activity: Tai Kwun Outreach

This 2-hour activity aims to bring a fun approach to learning beyond the four walls of the historic compound. Through community experiences, Tai Kwun Outreach enables creative learning and inspires a new perspective on local cultural heritage and the lesser-known stories of Tai Kwun. Students will begin to build understanding and empathy towards the diverse people and stories that shaped Tai Kwun and Hong Kong.

The new outreach activity for primary and secondary students is a multicultural tour of Tai Kwun and Central led by ethnic minority youth, held in collaboration with The Salvation Army Tuen Mun Integrated Service for Young People. It will be launched on 25 February 2021 and is open for application now. Download the application form here
