Programme Postponement Notice
The following HK Phil × Tai Kwun: Chamber Music Series concert held at JC Cube, Tai Kwun, has been rescheduled at the same venue. Ticket-holders may present their original concert tickets to gain admission to the rescheduled performances.
Beethoven Meets Mozart (Originally rescheduled from 17 Feb 2020 to 9 Jun 2020, now further rescheduled to 28 Jun 2021)
For ticket holders who cannot attend the rescheduled performance, please contact the HK Phil Ticketing Office from Monday to Friday (10:00-12:30, 14:00-18:00, excluding Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays), at 2721 0132/2721 2332 or email ticketing@hkphil.org for relevant ticket arrangements on or before 28 July 2020. The combination of piano and winds is comparatively rare in the chamber music repertoire. Composers for this ensemble choose between the flute or oboe as the highest wind instrument with the clarinet, bassoon and horn completing the mix. Mozart is well known for his fascination with the clarinet, a newcomer into the orchestra in the latter part of the eighteenth-century. Beethoven was profoundly influenced by Mozart, and the coupling of these two works in this programme mark the admiration of the young composer.
